Women's Blend
An herbal tea from the Powhattan Nation for Women during Moon Time

Ingredients:  Peppermint, Chamomile Flower, Myrtle, Black Cohosh, Valerian Root, Ginger Root, Dandelion Root, Parsley, Dandelion Leaf, Rosemary, Dalmation Sage

When to use:  When you are focusing on balancing your menstrual cycle, regulating flow and relieving cramps.

How much to use:  A quart a day starting two days prior to menstrual flow due date.  Continue for 7 days or until bleeding stops.  Do this each month, starting 2 days before the due date of your flow, for 3 or 4 months.

Preparation:  Steep 1 tablespoon of herb per quart of hot water (distilled, spring, or filtered water) for 20 minutes.  Strain herbs and sip tea (don't gulp) throughout the day.  Allow at least 20 minutes between tea and meals.

Stabalizes the menstrual flow. Brings on flow that’s not flowing, will calm a heavy flow down. Will counter balance the pill and bring the hormones and menstrual cycle back to normal.

  • Mint is used strictly for flavor.
  • Chamomile also cuts down on the taste factor.
  • Myrtle is main ingredient, the one that sets up the balance and regulates things..
  • Black cohosh is used as a blood cleanser, to get rid of morbid matter and avoid infection.
  • Ginger is here as a heat factor to keep everything warm. If you warm things up they flow better.
  • Dandelion is used a a blood purifier to hold downw infection, as is valerian.
  • Parsley is use for chlorophyll to pick up the morbib matter.
  • Rosemary is a solvent and penetrates into the uterine walls.
  • Sage is used for its antibiotic properties.
